John grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and attended Augustana College where he played football, and double majored in Music and Business. He is very passionate about music composition and music production and actively plays guitar, bass, and piano. After college, he began a career in commercial banking and relocated to the east coast, then eventually to LA.  After several years, John began searching for a new professional path.

 “I knew early on that I was not the office type, starting my own business was a long time aspiration and was what initially attracted me to the business field. As my career progressed, it became very clear that I had to find something to both stimulate my creativity and have a positive impact on people in order to find passion in work” – John Osborne

John took an opportunity to apprentice with an electrician, working for  Brighten Up Electric based out of Chicago. He found excitement in the electrical field, with a natural ability and desire to learn the trade. It quickly became second nature, and discovered that he had a talent for light design and implemented creative methods of using different fixtures and lighting styles to get a desired or unique lighting effect.

 “I have truly found passion in lighting and spend countless hours researching lighting, fixtures, and techniques. Other companies will all mention the artistic approach to lighting, and while I agree that it is art in the dark…I think the most stimulating factor of what I do is creating a vision or idea for lighting with each homeowner and then truly delivering or even surpassing expectations once it becomes a reality. It does not get more personal than enhancing the space at someone’s home where time is spent with family friends and loved ones. That’s why the end product matters so much for every single project”
